I am working with Avida on my windows 7 computer, and I don’t know where to find data that I have extracted about any digital organism. I need some help. I pressed “X” to extract, it says “Extracting 101-aabkf…Done”. But, i cannot find this file in my computer.
Unfortunately there is a known issue with Avida 2.12.0-2.12.1 file path handling on Windows that prevents output files from being generated. I have backported the fix for this issue and released Avida 2.12.2, which you will find now at our SourceForge page.
Thank you for your timely response.
I found another problem with Avida on windows. I’m unable to run Avida in analyze mode. It doesn’t create any output files in the data folder.
Will you please submit a Trac ticket and attach the relevant config files you are using. I will look into the problem.
I have investigated and confirmed that there is a bug in triggering analyze mode. We will endeavor to fix this in the next release. In the meantime, however, there is a workaround that will allow you to run the script from within the viewer. See my comment on Ticket #1355.
